Marriage Licence Application

Couples need a marriage licence to get legally married in Ontario. Marriage licences can be purchased at the Township of Scugog Administration Building or any other municipal office in Ontario.

  • An Ontario marriage licence is valid anywhere in the Province of Ontario for 90 days from the date of issue.
  • This form can only be used to submit your marriage licence application form to the Township of Scugog.
  • After submission, you will be required to book an in-person appointment with the Clerk’s Department to attend the office to confirm identification, divorce papers (where applicable), and obtain the licence.

Personal Information contained on this form is collected under the authority of the Marriage Act, R.S.O. 1990c. M. 3 and will be used to determine whether to issue the marriage licence, to register and record the marriage, provided certified copies, extracts, certificates, search notices, photocopies and for statistical, research, medical, law enforcement, adoption and adoption disclosure purposes.
