Scugog Nature Photo Contest

All year round, mother nature is busy in the Township of Scugog.

Let’s celebrate all of this natural beauty with your best photos taken of the plants, animals, and scenery in our Township!

SECCAC will select 12 photos to feature and publish in its 2025 Scugog Nature Calendar, plus, a 1st place winner will be selected and awarded the cover page photo for the Calendar.

The Contest is open to Scugog residents of all ages.

CONTEST RULES

  • Contest photos and Contest information (outlined below) must be submitted online via this form no later than October 31, 2024 at 11:59 pm EST.
  • Photos submitted must have been taken within the Township of Scugog.
  • Each person is allowed up to 3 photo submissions.
  • Contestants must be a resident of the Township of Scugog.
  • Contestants will be divided into 3 categories including – Youth (ages 4-17), Amateur, and Professional, and they must state which category their photo(s) belongs to. Note, a professional photographer is anyone who has charged money for their photographs and/or services.
  • Content alteration of digital files is not acceptable. Cropping of photos is permitted; tonal or colour corrections are acceptable, including black and white conversion. Winning entrants must be able to provide a high-resolution version of each photo that they submit (uncompressed TIFF or maximum quality JPEG, Grayscale or Colour (RGB). Digital files should be 3600 pixels wide by 2700 pixels tall (or 12” x 9”) at 300 dpi. For photographs that are selected as winning entries, the high-resolution version of the photograph will be required for reproduction.
  • Photos that have been published elsewhere can not be accepted.
  • By participating in the Contest, contestants agree to having their photo published crediting their name online and through various media channels at the discretion of SECCAC.
